When Tracy wrote in regard to “liberties of the press (media),” it was very much in the good faith of sensible application.

I do feel that such liberty should be protected – how then to protect it from itself?

The modern unchecked media poses dangers in a greater volume than in Tracy’s day – though it is that much of the dangerous aspects have already been examined, even then in different forms and situations in governance.

The question I hope to examine, is in regard to media which is a detriment unto itself- endangering the very freedoms that effective media (in the context in which American media was conceived) need to exist.

One extreme is pure propaganda – the other is as well in a different sense – both serving to negate the efficient use of media conducive to liberty.

I look forward to exploring and addressing these such issues. This includes “music industry” subject matter.

07-29-2006 – As a note for instance, one of the current most popular music producers in the “Sony” corporation, is a Catholic which claims that there is no such thing as “space travel,” and further still promotes the idea that the “Earth” is the center of the Universe. All while maintaining use of such modern things as satellite communications. It is a rather interesting contradiction which is presented in the facets involved in such a situation – particularly pertaining to the social effects and dynamic of said opinions on the rest of society.
