I find a very amusing statement in Tracy’s commentary on the “Spirit of Laws.”
He states that “un-skillfulness in manufacturing may be considered a pernicious luxury.”
The modern United States would seem to be the most luxurious place on the planet, in that respect.
It is even encouraged to have no pride in workmanship in some places.
He does note however, the “great waste of time and labor” as result.
I have to smile to myself when I see these ignorant people spouting things such as “time is money,” when really, at best – most are involved in sub quality productions void of any personal investment… in both business and social exchange. Some even sabotage the product – food products especially, with foreign substances – even feces in some cases. Most times for nothing more than some short sighted and trivial reason (as if there could be a sufficient reason), all while claiming to be “big players.”
