A quote from Tracy’s “Treatise On Political Economy;” “I know that this explication is so simple that it appears silly, and that all this appears to be written for children; for men (and women in this day and age) are not supposed to be ignorant of facts so common and truths so trivial.”

He wrote that about describing basics of commerce and those fundamental things that will always be in any healthy economy. Amusingly in a sad way – there are more people alive today with influence on society that haven’t clue one about such incredibly simple things. In fact, for some reason such very basic knowledge is treated as if it were secret.

In my opinion, promoting such ignorance is nearly treasonous from certain perspectives and in certain degrees – especially promoting the ignorant into ranks of actual influence. This of course may very well be due to the success of the initial idea in which we live… and further may be as result of efforts in maintaining an insured population of “Faguet” like groupings (all unique as to their specific area of said ignorance), but what I most think it to be is simple as result of said success and then the ever growing “consumer mentality” (which I am currently observing and studying as I type these notes into document form).

Perhaps it is that society has become far too structured in allowing for such ignorance not only to be promoted, but to flourish?

A college degree can easily be handed to anyone in our day and age that “knows someone.” That person not even having to know the smallest amount of the subject matter for which said “degree” was/is supposedly issued.

Some people promote such as some form of “equality.” In my opinion, in NO way is it “equality.” In fact, again from my opinion, such actions in the guise of “equality” are actually an offensive to the very idea of said. It is more of a crime against the desired “equality” on all sides, than it is any sort of “leg up” on oppression.

Such actions have produced a façade of a dyke against a very real sea of potential disaster and societal downfalls.

The “ignorant” replacing the informed. Some of those “informed” being of everyday people.

It seems to be an attitude that the ignorant can thrive with the mechanics of our established society as if they were part of its support structure. Making conscious and very deliberate decisions based largely on immediate want.

Such positions aren’t the place for decisions based entirely on self servitude in my opinion.

Being ignorant of the most basic insights means nothing more than no possible foresight. Such decision making necessitates foresight even at the most basic levels of every day decision making, foresight beyond the programming for a weeks worth of television.

The “natural” order of existence in that respect has been superseded with the ease of modern living and greed (perhaps this is intentional in an “automated society” type of way?), but at the same time many of those “ignorant” demand the credibility of “decision maker” (or other) for/in the positions handed to them while ignoring the actual needs of such stations. This being much like players on a stage demanding the credibility of characters that they portray – insisting on moving a fictitious role beyond the confines of the stage – without regard for ramifications on others and even entire societies, as well as their dynamics.

“Trivial Truths” as Tracy states them, seem all but extinct in the modern United States.
